About

Yoga Sadhana Delft was founded in fall 2017 and is dedicated to teaching yoga in the Sivananda tradition. At the moment there are no classes as I am expecting my second child and am on maternity leave.

Sivananda Yoga is a traditional and holistic approach to Yoga, based on the teachings of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda. The practice of asanas (postures) is combined with breathing exercises, meditation and mantra chanting. In this way, both mind and body are balanced and revitalised, leading to an experience of peacefulness and well-being.

Teachers:

Anna Geyer (spiritual name Omkari): I took my first yoga class as a child. Yoga has always been an important part of my life. I completed my Sivananda Yoga Teacher’s Training Course (RYS 200) in the Himalayas of India in 2015 and have been teaching in the Sivananda tradition ever since.

Mirjam Benard: From early age I have been sensitive for other people’s wellbeing and energy around me. From my own needs I felt I needed some guidance in managing lots of different outside influences and impressions and in finding a way to calm the mind.
In January 2013 I completed the Teacher Training Course in the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Dhanwantari Ashram in Neyyar Dam (India). Here I discovered a lot of tools to practice what I was looking for. Since the day I left the ashram, you can find me on the yoga mat every day. For me, yoga is an inexhaustible source of inspiration, an anchor in difficult times, a way of life. I love to share my experiences. It motivates me to see how people can benefit from that.
Hope to see you soon!

Satsang

In the Sivananda Yoga centres worldwide, meditation is an integral part of the Yoga practise. Meditation forms part of an activity called Satsang. It involves silent meditation, chanting of mantras and a short talk on yoga philosophy. Ideally, the Satsang is preceded by a Yoga class.
