First Sunday Sadhana

OM Namah Sivaya 

ૐ Dear Yogis, 

over the last year you have gradually grown in your individual yoga practise. Our focus has been on asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which can have deep physical and mental effects. Ultimately, the yoga practice leads not only to a healthy body but also to a healthy mind: it helps us to control and balance our thoughts and feelings. Building upon that progress, I would like to give you the opportunity to deepen your practise even further by offering guided meditation. The meditation practise is a natural continuation of the practise of asanas and pranayama. It involves exercises to develop concentration and can help us to calm down the agitated mind. 

In the Sivananda Yoga centres worldwide we practise meditation as part of an activity called “Satsang”. It involves a guided meditation, chanting of mantras and a short talk on yoga philosophy. I would like such an activity to take place at Yoga Sadhana Delft roughly once a month and hope that many of you will come to experience for yourself the power of satsang 🙂 

Ideally, the Satsang is preceded by a yoga class. Therefore, I propose the following: 

First Sunday Sadhana on 16.09.2018:
16:00 Yoga class
18:00 Satsang

ૐ wonderful guest teacher on May 4th

ૐ Dear Yogis of Delft, 

I am extremely happy to announce a special surprise for you: my dear friend and wonderful yoga teacher Sarasvati will teach the Yoga class in Delft tomorrow evening! She has spent many years teaching and practising yoga in one of the Sivananda Ashrams and has recently returned to live in the Netherlands. I am glad to have her join our little yoga family in Delft and strongly encourage you to come practise together tomorrow evening 😀

this coming Friday there will be no class as I am going on a Yoga retreat over the weekend. I am very much looking forward to coming back to Delft  refreshed and recharged and to sharing my Yoga practise again with you next week! 🙂

First of all let me wish you a happy new year 2018!! May it bring you joy, health and success in all your endeavors! 🙂 

Let’s start the new year with a Yoga class this Sunday, January 7th at 18.30h to shake off last years burdens and bring in fresh new energy through the practise of asanas and pranayama! 

Our regular Friday evening classes will resume January 12th. See you there!

In your physical body, the flow of energy takes place through your nerves; in the astral body, the flow of Prana takes place in the nadis, or meridians.
